In the Details 4/6/23
I always get a little giddy when it warms up in the spring and I can finally wear something other than jeans and boots. Oh the refreshing feeling of a skirt or dress blowing in a warm breeze after a long winter! This particular daily look was one of my first dress days of the season, and felt particularly true to my sense of style.
This particular day was a bit gloomy - there was a storm blowing in, but the air was humid and thick. These couple of layers proved to be the perfect thing for such a day.
The true stunner of this outfit is this beautiful red maxi dress by Brochu Walker. Honestly the comfiest maxi dress I currently own, and I love that the fabric is thicker as opposed to many dresses. Brochu Walker kindly provided a discount code for me to share if you’re planning to purchase anything from them: “FAITH15”.
And of course, the jacket that I wear pretty much all year - my beloved Barbour. Barbours definitely are on the pricey end of jackets (I actually bought mine secondhand), but they truly will last a lifetime. This is their Beadnell wax jacket - a classic and timeless piece.
And of course, what spring day is complete without a good sturdy pair of rain boots? It tends to get very muddy here, and rather than find myself hopping around and dodging puddles/muddy spots, I opt for rain boots so I can step virtually wherever I’d like. These are also a second hand purchase for me - originally from LL Bean.
Overall it was a lovely excursion on one of the first truly warm days we’ve had. I did some twirling and gave some “hellos!” to the sprouting plants. I watched the thunderstorm roll in, and felt the warm breeze billow in my dress. My boots squelched in the semi-dry mud, and I felt most alive in this day of bit of revel.
